StartWeek as the beginning of your studies
Since 2001, new students have been gathering every year on the campus of the University of St.Gallen (HSG) before the start of the academic year to familiarize themselves with their new surroundings during the StartWeek. The StartWeek is an integral part of the Assessment Year at the HSG. The overall goal of the StartWeek is to optimally prepare new students for their everyday studies and their new role at the university.
Case study, administrative integration and new surroundings
As an introduction to scientific work in an academic environment, new students explore interdisciplinary issues during the week by means of a case study. In addition to the case study, students receive an administrative introduction to, among other things, the study system, IT infrastructure and library of the HSG. For social anchoring in the new environment, first contacts with fellow students can be established.
Under Starting your studies, you can find information on next steps, your arrival in St.Gallen, HSG campus life, digital platforms and IT tools, and Counselling services (financing your studies, language courses, the Military Liaison Office and Special Needs Advice Center) that might be relevant before you start your studies.
