Organisational matters On this page, you will find useful information about organisational matters regarding the StartWeek at the University of St.Gallen. Senior students support each group Our 60 StartWeek groups consist of approximately 25 new students coming from different backgrounds and they are led by two tutors (i.e., peer support by senior students). The members of the support crew, who are responsible for important support processes, ensure a smooth operation. The tutors as well as the members of the support crew are specially trained for the StartWeek and prepared individually for their challenging tasks. Programme The extensive StartWeek programme lasts all day – i.e., from morning till evening – leaving little or no room for looking for accommodation, doing your shopping or visiting offices and running errands. In this case, it is advisable for students to settle in and accustom themselves in St.Gallen well before the start of the StartWeek. Introduction to the HSG IT infrastructure New students are introduced to the IT infrastructure of the HSG on Monday during the two-part information module "InfoTools". As part of the final check of student documents and certificates, students receive passwords and information to access study-relevant HSG IT systems, their HSGcard and a declaration of consent for the free electronic provision and delivery of study-relevant documents. Complete information on Bidding, the process of assigning courses and exercise groups in the Assessment Year, is included in the programme of the StartWeek. Catering The university cafeteria A, the cafeteria B in the library building and other food options are open to all new students and participants during the StartWeek, as well as the StartCafé.
